AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the darkness." The plot presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret sect.
The questline centers on "strange trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's newest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
